The “Industry 4.0 Research and Innovation Center of Excellence” project targets a high-tech area where – in a unique way – the need for high-level basic research is integrated with the satisfaction of pressing practical needs. Cyber-physical systems are computational structures that have an intensive relationship with the surrounding physical world, physical processes, and at the same time serve and utilize the data access and data processing services available on the Internet.
The project aims to develop a resource-efficient, robust production planning and management system in accordance with the research and development directions of Industry 4.0: the implementation of a smart logistics system; the development of new models and operating systems of cooperative and adaptive production and logistics networks; developing the concept of energy-efficient and sustainable production, and introducing production IT services based on cloud computing.
They provide services for industrial and government partners, and conduct research in the field of cyber-physical production systems. In addition to these, the training of students in higher education and the dissemination of knowledge to the general public is also a key aspect in the center’s activities.
